RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University student-athletes reached a departmental grade point average above 3.0 for the 22nd consecutive semester, the athletic department announced on Thursday.

Colonel student-athletes concluded the fall of 2022 with a departmental grade point average (GPA) of 3.06. 15 of EKU's 18 programs earned a GPA of 3.0 or better.

"We are incredibly proud of the work our student-athletes put forth in the classroom throughout the fall, and are also appreciative of the outstanding faculty, Student Success staff, and our Bratzke Center professionals for their roles in pursuing academic excellence," said Vice President and Director of Athletics Matt Roan. "These young men and women are outstanding representatives of Eastern Kentucky. Their drive to be the best both in competition and in the classroom is evident in the accomplishments that they attained during the fall semester."

Baseball (3.369) recorded its highest fall GPA on record, while men's basketball (2.839) posted its second-highest fall GPA ever. EKU's female student-athletes recorded a cumulative 3.42 GPA.

The department saw 58 student-athletes earn a 4.0 GPA for the semester. 105 student-athletes made the Dean's List and 243 were named Colonel Scholars after notching a 3.0 semester GPA.
