Five Women Golfers selected to National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team

RICHMOND, Ky. – Five Eastern Kentucky University women’s golfers were selected to the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) All-American Scholar team. The five Colonels are Taylor Church, April Emerson, Linda Hogberg, Kara Fant and Katie Wiedmar.

“I am very proud of the five student-athletes on our team that have been honored as NGCA All-American Scholars,” said head coach Mike Whitson. “They work so hard in the classroom and this recognition is well deserved. The entire Bratzke Center staff deserves a lot of credit as well. Our tradition of having great students on our team will continue to be an important part of our golf program.”

Church, Hogberg, Fant and Wiedmar will be seniors this fall while Emerson is set to begin her junior season.

For inclusion on the NGCA All-American Scholar team, student-athletes must possess a 3.50 or higher cumulative grade-point-average. A total of 566 NCAA Division I, II and III student-athletes from across the nation were recognized with the NGCA All-American Scholar honor.
